Burgers at The Ship Wandsworth

The Ship in Wandsworth does have a great name for itself as a restaurant and pub. I've had dinner there before around christmas time and it was really amazing, little salty at times but all round very good.

I've read a lot about about their burgers so a friend and i thought we'd come down for lunch. We opted to sit outside, which to be honest kinda sucks as the view and the surrounding area is quite the opposite of the word chic.

So the routine when you're sitting outside (maybe inside too during the day) is that you receive a text when your foods ready and you go pick it up yourself. My pal had a pulled pork bun, first of all he was impressed by the amount of pulled pork and also how juicy and soft the meat was although he wasn't sure about whatever sauce was used. In his words "I think everythings nice" so we cant really trust him, but it looked alright.  As for the burger, i've seen a certain burger blogger give it 4 out of 5 stars, so i was thinking.. fuck yeah! this'll be awesome. Unfortunately not, fries were over salted and i couldn't finish them, the bun was quite dry but mainly on one side, there wasn't enough sauce, the bottom of the bun was insanely greasy as if it has been placed in a puddle of grease on a board, the meat around the edge was dry, the burger slightly over cooked and personally i just don't think raw onion belongs in a burger, i find it overpowering and unsuitable for a burger, as for the cheese it was insanely rich and gave the impression of some processed hell slice you'd find stuck to the back of your fridge on a drunken 4am fridge hunt. Both were about £12 with fries and honestly not really worth it, this place is in a bit of a shit location so unless you live local i'd avoid lunch and stick to dinner.

Want a better burger where you don't need to travel too far then go to Byron, want a great pub dinner around Wandsworth then go to The Ship.

Idiot

Absolute fuckeries will take place here i can imagine. Beautiful.

Pulled pork with red onion. Fairly large amount of pork.

Cheese burger with pickled cucumber and really fucking salty fries. (couldn't even finish them)

Pickled cucumbers seemed a little old and not very fresh.

Rad.
